Board Meeting Minutes – September 9, 2025
Meeting: Called to order at 7:03pm by Supervisor Jager
Pledge of Allegiance: Led by Supervisor Jager
Roll call by Clerk Murat: Supervisor Jager, Treasurer Halbower, Clerk Murat, Trustee Jager, Trustee Brant,
all present.
Motion 1-9-25 by Trustee Jager to approve June 24, 2025 Budget Hearing meeting minutes, supported
by Trustee Brant. Motion carries.
Motion 2-9-25 by Trustee Jager to approve August 12, 2025 meeting minutes, supported by Clerk Murat.
Motion carries.
Motion 3-9-25 by Trustee Jager to approve payment of the bills as presented, supported by Trustee
Brant. Motion carries.
Business from the floor:
Amy Brookhouse, 10549 Holton Duck Lake Rd, spoke of her concern about the transfer station
not accepting large items any longer. She would rather see prices raised and still have the convenience of
using the transfer station over discontinuing taking large items.
Bill Nelcher, various zoning questions on 7162 Holton Rd.
Motion 4-9-25 by Trustee Jager to approve Treasurer’s report as presented, support by Clerk Murat.
Motion carries.
Correspondence:
Revenue Sharing: Funding will be cut, however it will not affect Holton Township much.
Main St Project: Electric issue on poles to be corrected, flower gardens and trees have been
planted.
Dangerous Building: Update on 8225 Holton Rd, A permit for demolition has been issued.
Waiting for inspection to see if any of the structure can be saved.
Department reports:
Inspections- 11 new permits for a total of $2,346.00
Library- 2025 Story Time begins September 10th. Grandparents Day was held on September 3.
Holton Garden Club is meeting September 16th with a plant exchange to follow. Book Club continues to
meet monthly.
Fire Department- 36 calls, 24 Holton Township and 8 Cedar Creek Township with 4 Mutual Aids.
Chief Hawk encourages community members to stop by the Fire Station on September 26th for their Fire
Prevention Open House which starts at 6pm.
Ordinance- Nothing new to report
Parks: Pickle ball courts are done, lines painted and nets are up. Basketball Court nets should be
up in the next week or two.
Motion 5-9-25 by Supervisor Jager to accept Jerame Giddings’ resignation support by Trustee Jager.
Motion carries.
Motion 6-9-25 by Trustee Brant to discontinue Pontom Cemetery Software and explore other options,
support by Trustee Jager. Motion carries.
Motion 7-9-25 by Treasurer Halbower to double the rates on all furniture at the transfer station, support
by Trustee Jager.

Supervisor Jager, No. Motion carries.
Motion 8-9-25 by Trustee Jager to allow Fire Dept. to hire 3 new firefighters contingent on passing
physical ability testing, support by Trustee Brant. Motion carries.
Motion 9-9-25 by Trustee Jager to enter into plan with Flawless IT for 4 years, support by Clerk Murat.
Motion 10-9-25 by Trustee Jager to approve resolution 08-09-25 to authorize full time employees to
receive an additional $3.00 of their hourly wage to use for healthcare costs, support by Clerk Murat.
Roll call vote: Trustee Jager, no. Supervisor Jager, yes. Trustee Brant, yes. Treasurer Halbower, yes. Clerk
Murat, yes. Motion carries.
Motion 11-9-25 by Trustee Brant to approve resolution 09-09-25 to authorize full time employees who
are not in the Township’s qualified retirement pension plan, to receive an additional 5% of their hourly
wage to use for retirement savings, support by Treasurer Halbower.

Brant, yes. Motion carries.
Motion 12-9-25 by Trustee Jager to approve the hiring of Matthew Sokolowski as the maintenance
supervisor, support by Treasurer Halbower. Motion carries.
Motion 12-9-25 by Supervisor Jager to adjourn at 8:40 pm, supported by Trustee Brant. Motion carries.
