Board Meeting Minutes for June 11, 2013
Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Roll Call: Supervisor Noble, Treasurer Halbower Clerk Johnson, Trustee Jager, and Trustee Wilson present.

Review of minutes: May 14, 2013 & May 28, 2013
060113 Trustee Jager made a motion to accept the minutes as presented. Trustee Wilson seconded. CARRIED.
060213 Trustee Wilson made a motion to accept the minutes with correction to eighth sentence – changing the word year to month. Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED.
Review of Bills:
060313 Trustee Jager made the motion to pay the bills as presented. Trustee Wilson seconded. CARRIED.
Business from the Floor: Mr. Rodney Dial commented that Brickyard Road between Meinert and Skeels is really bad, that it has craters not pot holes. They are 3 feet across and 6 inches deep, and someone is going to get hurt. Mick will call the road commission.
Treasurer’s Report:
060413 Trustee Wilson made the motion to accept the treasurers report as presented. Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED.
Department Reports:
Tom West Planning Commission Chairman reported that the map we ordered from WMSRD was given to us – they waived the fee.
Fire Chief Art Stevens reported total man hours of 290 for May. Expenses for the 206 account were $4596.10 and it is 22% under budget. Expenses for the 216 account were $0, and it is 20% under budget.
They are going to be doing interviews for officers – Tammy Jager volunteered to be the board representative.

New Business: Adoption of Planning Commission Meeting Dates for 2013-2014. Sept 17, 2013,
Nov. 6, 2013, Jan. 21, 2014, Mar. 18, 2014, May 20, 2014, and July 15, 2014.
060513 Treasurer Halbower made the motion to accept the dates presented. Trustee Wilson seconded. CARRIED.
First reading of revised Camping Ordinance.
Combining the positions of Rental Inspector and Ordinance Enforcer.
060613 Trustee Wilson made the motion to approve combining the Ordinance and Rental Inspector positions.
Mick pointed out that we would try this out for one year to see how it worked, and Val Jensen agreed to try it and see how it worked out. Trustee Wilson amended his motion to include the pay would be $350 a month for the Ordinance Enforcer position in addition to the rental fees, and Val would try it for one year and then we would revisit it. Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED.
Muskegon Area Fire Services Mutual Aid Agreement. This is an update from the 90’s, and it takes effect when all participants have signed it.
060713 Trustee Jager made the motion for the Holton Township Fire Department to participate in the MAFSMAA. Trustee Wilson seconded. CARRIED.
Art requested permission to purchase a lighting package for the brush truck which we received from the DNR. The cost is $1426.34.
060813 Trustee Wilson made the motion to allow Art to purchase the lighting package for the brush truck. Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED.
Art would like permission to attend the annual Fire Chief’s Conference July 23-26th at the Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City at a total cost of $842.59.
