Board Meeting Minutes for October 8, 2013

Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Pledge of Allegiance given by all present

Roll Call: Treasurer Halbower, Supervisor Noble, Clerk Johnson, Trustee Jager, and Trustee Wilson present.

Agenda is set.

Review of minutes:

100113 Trustee Wilson made a motion to accept the minutes as presented. Trustee Jager. seconded. CARRIED.

Review of Bills:

100213 Trustee Wilson made the motion to pay the bills as presented. Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED.

Business from the Floor: Mr. Alan Jager from Holton Duck Lake Road and Don Rohlck discussed the sand mining permitted on his property and that it is zoned commercial back in 1990. Don is recommending that when the land is sold that the zoning be changed back.

Tom West from Holton Duck Lake had a conversation with a neighbor of the transfer station, and he told
Tom that there was a lot of litter in the back at the transfer station. Mick mention that if we have someone who has to do community service available we have them clean up there, or if the students at the school need projects they also clean up there. Marc reported that he had just spent 12 hours cleaning up there.

Treasurer’s Report:

100313 Trustee Wilson made the motion to accept the treasurers report as presented. Trustee
Jager seconded. CARRIED.

Department Reports:

Tom West Planning Commission Chairman – They haven’t had a meeting since the last board meeting, but
he had thoughts on the Special Use follow up question from the previous meeting, and Angela is working
on a list of the past Special Use permits and they are being listed by address so that follow up will be easier.

Fire Chief Art Stevens reported total man hours for September were 342.5. Expenses for the 206 account were $5,995.26 and it is 12% under budget. Expenses for the 216 account were $0.

Art would like to add two new men as probationary to the fire department. They have had physicals and
have started training. Josh Hawk and Travis Hautekee.

100413 Trustee Wilson made the motion to add Josh Hawk and Travis Hautekee on as probationary fire fighters. Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED.

Correspondence: A letter from the MCRC denying the request for the Amish to fill the holes on
Brickyard Road with concrete.
A letter from Cedar Creek requesting our support on Crocker Road Improvements – we are not going
to contribute any funds, but we also are not in favor of closing part of the road off.

Unfinished Business: None

New Business: Drop box for the Library. The box cost is $2304 from Demco, and Patron will install
For $900 – if trim is needed that would be an additional $1200. We can do the trim ourselves if not
Included.

100513 Trustee Wilson made the motion to allow the drop box installed at a cost of $3,204. Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED.
