Board Meeting Minutes from August 8, 2017
Meeting called to order at 7:05 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance given by all present.
Roll Call: Trustee Jager, Clerk Johnson, Supervisor Jager, Treasurer Halbower, and Trustee Schroeder.

Review of minutes:
080117 Trustee Jager made a motion to accept the July 11, 2017 regular board minutes as presented. Trustee Schroeder seconded. CARRIED.
Review of Bills:
080217 Trustee Jager made the motion to pay the bills as presented. Trustee Schroeder seconded. CARRIED.
Business from the Floor: Fred Streets, Round Lake talked about how bad Brunswick Road is and the damage it is causing to vehicles.
Treasurer’s Report:
080317 Trustee Jager made the motion to accept the treasurers report as presented. Trustee Schroeder seconded. CARRIED.
Department Reports: Fire Chief Hawk reported total man-hours of 554 for July. Expenses for the 206 account were $10,019.63 which is currently 95% under budget.
No Correspondence: Letter from Transfer Station Attendant about a woman who refused to pay.
Unfinished Business: Fire Department escorts – postponed.
New Business: Audit Contract: Proposed audit fees: 6/2017 – $3600, 6/2018 – $3675, 6/2019 – $3750
080417 Trustee Jager made the motion to accept the contract prices from Gabridge & Co for year 1 $3600, year 2 $3675, year 3 $3750. Treasurer Halbower seconded. CARRIED.
Phone contract – tabled for more bids
The park received a $1000 grant from the Mary C. Payne Fund of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County to be used for the play area/softball field. The Township thanks her for her support.
Park Caretaker – Jason has informed Bill that he is moving and will stay until we find a new caretaker. It was decided to post the caretaker opening on our board and on the website.
Pension Resolution: Our employee voluntary share is a max of 10%, we can increase this by resolution. It was suggested we increase the amount to 20%.
080517 Trustee Jager made the motion to increase the employee voluntary contribution to a max of 20%. Clerk Johnson seconded. CARRIED.
Future Business: Supervisor Jager has discussed with the Road Commission on roads that need repair. There are 6 roads downtown that are getting bad. Mr. Hulka is going to fix a section of Brunswick Road that is bad because of something they did to the road. He has also given the Township permission to get bids and fix small sections of road as long as we meet requirements. There are a number of bad spots and a decision will have to be made on which spots to work on. Some residents on Brickyard and possibly Brunswick may contribute towards the road repairs so more can be done.
