Planning Commission Meeting Minutes – November 19, 2024

Meeting called to order at 7:04 PM
Roll Call: ALL PRESENT
11-19-01 Motion by to Board Member Halbower to approve the September minutes.
Support by Secretary Coon. CARRIED.
11-19-02 Motion by Chair Williams to approve the agenda with the change of date from
September 17th, 2024 to November 19th, 2024. Support by Member Fanjoy.
CARRIED.

Pamela Knight

Inquiring about dividing their family parcel of land into two parcels to give one to kids. Mrs.
Knight provides map outlining proposed changes. Parcel falls into an area that Vice Chair
Monette and sub committee are looking at for zoning changes. Board Member Halbower notes
that long narrow parcels have not done well on resale. Secretary Coon notes that homes are in
demand in the area and the long driveway is already set up to support the split of the property.
Halbower says there are vacant lots available to build on. Chair Williams counters with the
fact the residents already own this property.

Comments that the property is only 3 miles from town. Board Member Halbower notes this is
still on the outskirts of township property. Chair Williams noted that the Pine Island is past them
and zoned R2. Secretary Coon inquires how long the residents have owned their
property, assuming they may plan to be there long term. Mr. Knight confirms they have and will
continue to reside at this location with their family. Vice Chair Monette states that as it stands,
it would be hard to approve. Board Member Halbower wants to see even density across the
township.
Board decides to hold a special meeting regarding proposed zoning changes. Chair Williams
wants to see movement on this.
No New Business.
11-18-03 Motion by Vice Chair Monette to adjourn meeting. Support by Member Eastling. CARRIED.
