Board Meeting Minutes for March 12, 2013
Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Roll Call: Present: Treasurer Halbower, Supervisor Noble and Trustee Jager. Absent: Clerk Johnson and Trustee Wilson.

Review of minutes: February 12, 2013
030113 Treasurer Halbower made motion to accept the February 12, 2013 minutes as presented.
Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED
Review of Bills:
030213 Treasurer Halbower made motion to pay the bills as presented. Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED
Business from the Floor: Mr. Kurt Jefferies, Lamos Road, Whitehall, Michigan, employee of Holton Public Schools, asked about growth in the township, was there possible new developments. Asked if Muskegon County had any grants for growth. Asked about the old Marco West building. Response from township – There was a possible development but it fell through. Nothing we can do about Marco West it is privately held.
Ms. Stacy Wright, Ryerson Road, Twin Lake, Michigan, employee of Holton Public Schools – Transportation Department. Can we point her in any direction for improving our roads? She has called in daily about the pot holes in the roads. Mentioned that Syers, 3rd and Brunswick were the worst roads.
Response from Township: We have talked with Road Commission. We have tried for a millage.
Mentioned she should talk to Mr. Jack Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy is looking at different options for resurfacing Brunswick. Explanation of the match for county road work.
Treasurer’s Report:
030313 Trustee Jager made motion to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented. Supervisor Noble seconded. CARRIED
Department Reports: Fire Chief Art Stevens reported total man hours of 397 for February. Expenses for the 206 account were $6,410.68 and is 14% under budget. Expense for the 216 account were $0 and it is 29% under budget.
Planning Commissioner Chairman, Tom West, reported that they were snowed out for the training.
Master Plan coming, submitted the final minutes of the Township Board where they approved the plan.

New Business:
030413 Treasurer Halbower made a motion to have a Free Dump Day on May 11, 2013. Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED
Point of interest, Two Trackers Four Wheel Drive Club will do two-track clean up on April 20, 2013. It is a free service to the township.
Constantine Irrigation Fall services is $315.00. Trustee Jager questioned if bids were sought and received for this service. No one wanted to bid the project because they didn’t install system.
030513 Treasurer Halbower made a motion to approve Constantine Irrigation Fall services for the upcoming year. Supervisor Noble seconded. CARRIED
Two year contract with Uganski for Transfer Station. Contract was for $170.00 per pull and is raising to $175.00 per pull. Supervisor Noble relayed that the Transfer Supervisor has had no problems with Uganski. Problems earlier had been resolved.
Trustee Jager ask if other bids had been sought. Supervisor Noble will seek other bids.
Tom West, Chair of the Planning Commission received a letter about Veteran’s Memorial Sites Grant.
The Muskegon County Men Who Care awarded the Disability Connection/West Michigan (DC/WM) funds to serve and recognize Muskegon County Veterans. They will be allocating up to $500.00 in grants to veteran’s memorial sites. Supervisor Noble asked Marc Hawk to put together prices for repairs or replacement of our split rail fence on the north and south side of the cemetery. Seeking permission to apply for grant to do just the north and south front sections by the Veteran’s Memorial at a cost of $465.44.
030613 Treasurer Halbower made motion to apply for grant to replace the fence on the north and south side of the cemetery for $500.00. Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED
