Roll Call:  Treasurer Halbower, Supervisor Noble, Clerk Johnson, Trustee Jager present.  Trustee Wilson absent.

Review of minutes – January 14, 2014 meeting.

020114                    Treasurer Halbower made a motion to accept the minutes as written.  Trustee Jager seconded.      CARRIED.            

Review of Bills:

020214                    Treasurer Halbower made the motion to pay the bills as presented.  Trustee Jager  seconded.                      CARRIED.

Business from the Floor:  Ms. Cathy Forbes – Hesperia, Oceana County Road Commission spoke to the board, and announced that she is running for Senate as a Democrat. 

Treasurer’s Report: 

020314                    Trustee Jager made the motion to accept the treasurers report as presented.  Clerk  Johnson seconded.  CARRIED.

Department Reports: 

Planning Commission Chairman Tom West reported they have been working on Ordinance updates and

have sent a draft copy to the Township attorney for review.  He will also do a synopsis for the publication.

Fire Chief Stevens reported for the month of Jan:  Man hours total 418 hours.  Expenses for the 206 account were $4,778.36, currently 23% under budget.  No expenses from the 216 account and it is 20% over budget because of the early payoff of the truck loan. 

The fire department received the new rescue tools and saved $1268 by combining with Blue Lake Township.

Art would like permission to attend the MI Fire Chief Conference in Bay City.  The registration cost is $169, and $199 for 2 nights hotel.

020414                    Trustee Jager made the motion that Art be allowed to attend the Fire Chief’s conference in Bay city at a  cost of $359.50.  Treasurer Halbower seconded.  CARRIED.

New Business: 

Art would like permission to replace the old lighting with LED lighting.  This would include 21 high power strips fixture kits for $791.07; 84 T8 replacement lamps for $302.40; and 4 LED area & wall lights for $527.76 at a total cost of $1621.23 – from Kendall Electric

Resolution for Fire Equipment Renewal Millage

020614                Trustee Jager made the motion to adopt the Resolution for the Fire Department

                                Renewal Millage.  Treasurer Halbower seconded.  ROLL CALL VOTE:  Treasurer

                                Hal bower -YES, Supervisor Noble-YES, Clerk Johnson-YES, Trustee Jager-YES,

                                Trustee Wilson-YES.  Supervisor Noble declared the resolution adopted.

Tom West requested the purchase of a laptop computer for the Planning Commission Secretary/Cemetery

Superintendent use.  The present one is outdated and can’t do all the things she could use it for.  Cost would

Be $499.99 and MS Word for $100.  Quote from Holton Electronics.
