Board Meeting Minutes for January 14, 2014
Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance given by all present.
Roll Call: Treasurer Halbower, Supervisor Noble, Clerk Johnson, Trustee Jager present. Trustee Wilson absent.
Agenda is set.
Review of minutes – December 10, 2013 meeting.
010114 Trustee Jager made a motion to accept the minutes as written. Treasurer Halbower seconded. CARRIED.
Review of Bills:
010214 Trustee Jager made the motion to pay the bills as presented. Treasurer Halbower seconded. CARRIED.
Business from the Floor: Ms Brenda Moore the new Muskegon County Drain Commissioner talked to
us about her plan for doing the job – she just took office the day after Veterans Day.
Treasurer’s Report:
010314 Clerk Johnson made the motion to accept the treasurers report as presented. Trustee
Jager seconded. CARRIED.
Department Reports:
Fire Chief Stevens reported for the month of Dec: Man hours total 341 hours. There were 284 runs for the 2013 year. Expenses for the 206 account $7,299.66, currently 19 % under budget. No expenses from the 216 account and it is 78% of budget because of the early payoff of the truck loan.
Art would like permission to replace the chain saw – bid #1 from Reeman Farm Equipment for $429.95
bid # 2 from Holton Hardware for $434.95. Art recommends the chair saw from Holton Hardware.
010414 Treasurer Halbower made the motion that Art be allowed to purchase the Dolmar chainsaw from Holton Hardware. Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED.

Unfinished Business: None
New Business: Update on the house situation on Holton Duck Lake – there is a woman interested in buying it and willing to tear down the house. We have to wait till be get the deed from the County before anything can be done.
Purchase of Salt Spreader – Marc was given permission to purchase a salt spreader for $1357.80 and we need to approve by motion.
010514 Trustee Jager made the motion to purchase a salt spreader from Reeman Farm Equipment.
Treasurer Halbower seconded. CARRIED.
Audit proposal from Gabridge & Company, PLC for the next 3 years. They have offered us a 5% reduction for the 2014 year if we approve a three year contract. 2014 would be $3340 instead of $3520, 2015 would be $3340, and 2015 would be $3540. We have been satisfied with this firm.
010614 Trustee Jager made the motion to enter into a contract with Gabridge & Co. for the next
three years for our Audits. Treasurer Halbower seconded. CARRIED.
Muskegon County is putting on a Planning Commission and ZBA Training in three sessions that is open
to all Board Member, Planning Commission and ZBA Members. This is free to those who wish to attend.
Jan 30th, Feb. 6th, and Feb. 19th.
