Zoning Ordinance 2014-1, Action taken by Holton Township Board on August 12, 2014 adopted a portion of the Ordinance 2014-1. The Board approved Ordinance 2014-1 with the word removal on page 2 sentence 2 changed to move, and excluding sections 16 – 25.
The Board also voted to have the Planning Commission review Sections 16-25 and delineate Special uses Applicable to these Sections.
The Township Guide to Planning and Zoning Chapter 11 page 128, item 3 Submission to township board. The township planning commission then transmits the proposed zoning ordinance and map or amendment to the township board for consideration.
As part of the township board consideration, it may, but is not required to, refer the matter back to the planning commission should the board wish to depart from the recommendation of the planning commission. If the further review is requested, the planning commission reviews any proposed change[s] and may choose to agree with the change, keep the original recommendation or propose a different change. Another public hearing by the planning commission is not required, but may be useful if the change under review is substantial.
