Planning Commission Meeting Minutes – March 31, 2021

Meeting called to order by Chair, Cheyenne at 7:05 p.m.

Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Minutes of March 16, 2021 were reviewed.  Motion by Bill Halbower, supported by Louis Slater to approve minutes as presented.  Motion carried.

Motion by Louis Slater, supported by Gene LaFlame to close Regular Meeting and open to Public Hearing at 7:06 p.m.  Motion carried.

Public Hearing is concerning a zone change from R-4 to Agriculture, parcel 61-05-010-300-0001-00 (10432 Schow Road).

Correspondence regarding Public Hearing – Julee Peterson, 10432 Schow Road, Holton, MI.

Chair welcomed those in attendance and outline procedure for hearing.

Comments from Public:

Julee Peterson – 10337 Schow Rd., Holton – Referred to letter to Planning Commission and her objection to the proposed change.  (See attached letter)

Dennis Peterson – 10337 Schow Road, Holton – Expressed concern with zoning change.

Al Bartolameolli – 5770 Holton Whitehall Road, Holton – Stated he was representing land owner, Brian Eling, P O Box 1302, Glen, NH.  Mr. Eling is not a Michigan resident but does visit occasionally. As a property owner, has invested interest in community.  Will be leasing property.

Patricia Guiher – 5740 Brunswick Road, Holton – Opposed to zoning change.  Feels it should stay as is.

Leonard Sprague – 9033 S. Green Ave, Fremont – Explained security issues at facilities.

Planning Commission Comments:

Bill Halbower – Would like to have more information on application as to the intent of applicant.

Gene LaFlame – Commented on number of residents contact and those attending.

Motion by Gene LaFlame, supported by Cheyenne Williams to close Public Hearing at 8:10 p.m.  Motion carried.

Chair called for a Roll Call Vote on rezoning parcel 61-05-010-300-0001-00 from R-4 to Agriculture:
